Windows 8, Touch Screen Revolution

Imagine what happens when Apple I-Phone, Android, Windows Smartphone and many more touch screen features are merged. Well, prepare yourself for Swipe, Slide, Zoom and many more interactive gadgets in Windows 8. Microsoft has planned to officially launch Windows 8 in October 2012, but beta version called ‘Consumer Preview’ has been launched in Feb 2012.

Microsoft has rework Windows as a “touch-first” operating system, meaning that its interface is simple and designed to be used in touch tablets similar to the iPad. Future laptops and PCs will likely have touchscreens as well. That’s just the direction things are headed. So Microsoft’s goal is to create one platform that can serve a keyboard and mouse just as well as a touchscreen.

Windows 8 will employ a new user interface based on Microsoft's Metro design language. The Metro environment will feature a new Tile-based Start Screen similar to the Windows Phone OS. Each tile will represent an application, and will be able to display relevant information such as the number of unread messages on the tile for an e-mail app or the current temperature on a weather application. Metro-style applications run in full-screen, and are able to share information.

Other Fetaures:

·        IE 10
·        Login / Sign in  using a Windows Live ID
·        Hybrid Boot will use "advanced hibernation functionality" on shutdown to allow faster startup times.
·        Windows To Go will allow Windows 8 to boot and run from a bootable USB device (such as a flash drive).
·        Two new recovery functions are included, ‘Refresh’ and ‘Reset’. Refresh restores all Windows files to their original state while keeping settings, files, and Metro-Style apps, while ‘Reset’ takes the computer back to factory default condition.
·        Native USB 3.0 support
·        New Windows Task Manager design
·        Xbox Live (Including Xbox Live Arcade)

Hardware requirements:

To use touch input features, touch enabled hardware will be required.

Pakistan Wins. Spinners brought back the glory back home

I woke up early on Saturday morning to watch Australia-India fixer. But not to my surprise, it was over. India was once again crushed by Kangaroos. Later, I got busy and went to shopping. Around mid-day, I heard that Pakistan was all out, setting a meager target of 145 only. Sikander Bakht, very rightly commented that England is #1 Team and they are bound to bounce back. Pakis took it lightly. At that moment, I was in total agreement with SK. So I took the option to take a rest and went for a nap.

In the evening, as I wake up, I switched on News. To my wildest dream, England lost the match. I was gone crazy. I couldn’t believe. So I quickly browse all the channels and everyone was chanting Pakistan’s victory.

The match has truly brought back the glory back home which was lost in the English soil last year through News of The World Magazine.

New Tyre could put an end to Punctures

Tyre company. Bridgestone says it's new invention could put an end to frustrating slow punctures and dangerous high-speed blow-outs. Bridgestone says its groundbreaking new prototype airless tyre never goes flat.
It is made of a recyclable plastic resin weaved into a mesh of spokes to support the tread of the tyre. The flexible design plays a key part in assuring the tyre does not collapse - performing the function air pressure does in regular tyres.
According to Bridgestone, the 'non-pneumatic' tyre is at an early stage of development but should eventually be available in retail vehicles. Non-pneumatic tyres have less impact on the environment than today's conventional tyres.

A Tale of a Holy Man

A holy man, who spent his last 10 years in solitary, was passing by a small town at night. He was amazed to see 2 houses well illuminated while others were completely darkened.  He thought, holy people must be living here. He praised the Almighty for his mercy and approached the town to learn the truth.

He asked one of the passer by, what holy men live here that their houses are enlightened. The man replied, they are the men who can afford UPS during load-shedding.

England beaten by 10 wickets

Amazingly, England fell short in their first series as world Test number ones, only Jonathan Trott delayed their downfall, as they were bowled out for 160 to lose this first match of three by 10 wickets.

Few could have imagined England would stumble at the first hurdle, against fast-improving opponents Pakistan. Captain Strauss admitted, England batted poorly in their first-innings for 192 - and it seemed unthinkable that they would not perform much better second time round.

In the first innings, it was off-spinner Saeed Ajmal – who finished with a match haul of 10 for 97 , while in second innings, England lost their top four to pacer Umar Gul (4-63).

Good luck Pakistan for Next one on 25 Jan.

The Wall has a Big Hole

Indian batsman Rahul Dravid known as "The Wall" known for his watertight technique and temperament now holds the dubious distinction of being bowled most times in Test Cricket history. Dravid, who was bowled on the third day of the Perth Test against Australia, went past former Australian skipper Allan Border (53) in the list of most bowled batsman.

Surely, this is one record that Dravid doesn’t want his name on it. Mr Wall, who is known for his solid defense, has been bowled out eight times in last 10 matches. Surely, a big hole has appeared in the wall.

Holy Bowl once used by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

Ramzan Kadyrov displaying Prophet's "Holy Bowl"

Ramzan Kadyrov, the eccentric leader of Chechnya, is famous for his collections of wild animals and luxury cars. Now he claims to be the new owner of a bowl once used by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), presented to him by descendants in London.
A video shows Kadyrov, collecting the Holy Bowl from a private jet at Grozny airport and getting into a convertible Rolls-Royce covered in black and gold rugs, also said to have been brought from London. The Rolls-Royce leads a motorcade of dozens of cars to the city's grand mosque, opened by the Chechen leader in 2008 as part of his drive to increase the official role of Islam in the republic. Thousands of residents lined the streets as Kadyrov waved and wiped away tears. Wearing a bright purple suit and black skullcap, Kadyrov pushes through a massive crowd at the mosque, the largest in Europe. As he opens the box to reveal the bowl, Kadyrov erupts into loud sobs, shoulders shaking. He covers his reddened face after he kisses the Holy Bowl for the first time, leading the crowd in chants of "Allahu Akbar".

The sacred bowl was brought from London to Grozny and dated back 1,400 years. The bowl will be kept at the mosque and brought out every year on Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) birthday for public display.

Sindh after Pir Pagara

Pir Sahib Pagara, the spiritual leader and president of Pakistan Muslim League (F) passed away on Jan 10, 2012. He was an instrumental figure in the Pakistani politics and has played a key role in resolving many political disputes as well as formation of many coalitions. He was very famous in prediction about national politics. He was sometimes termed as a man of Pakistani Establishment because of his support to past army rulers. Political elites and prominent businessmen all over country have always sought after Pir Sahib’s support.

Pir Sahib was very vocal and perhaps the only challenging source to confront the might of PPP in rural Sindh. His support and backing was considered essential for smooth operation of ethnically divided Sindh provincial assembly. In the past, Pir Sahib played a crucial role in reducing tension and bringing urban and rural politician on one table. Pir Pagaro was considered master mind in forming coalition of anti-PPP forces like MQM, PML groups and independents. His maestro was clearly behind the formation of Jam Sadiq’s government in Sindh from 1990 to 1992 despite PPP’s majority in assembly.

Pir Sahib’s departure in the current political turmoil will be beneficial for PPP to great extent especially when new elections could be announced any time. Rural Sindh political grounds may become easy turf for PPP as it will have only nationalist as their rival. Pir Sahib was the leading campaigner for unification of PML groups and was it not the PML(N) refusal, we might have a unified PML in Pakistan. His departure will also upset the PML unification campaign. Besides other family and tribal issues, the new crowned Pir Pagara will have a daunting task to organize a political campaign to deal with the political might of PPP.

Katrina Kaif's Chikni Chambeli was actually a Bloody Item Song

Sources recently revealed that the shooting schedule for her item song for Agneepath was rather demanding and stretched over long hours. So much so, that while shooting for the song, Kat got blisters and her feet started bleeding. Worried about her condition, her staff asked the choreographer to stop the shoot. Packing up for the day would have meant sending Hrithik Roshan and Sanjay Dutt home, too.

But Katrina proved to be a thorough professional and insisted that the actors needn't worry about her. She resumed her dance in no time, and completed the shoot as planned. Looks like this Chameli gave it her 100 per cent!
